Asian Fisheries Acoustics Society

The 18th Annual Meeting of
Asian Fisheries Acoustics Society,

AFAS 2025
THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON UNDERWATER ACOUSTIC TECHNOLOGY AND
EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE FISHERIES IN ASIA

THEME & TOPICS

Since its establishment in Dalian, China, in 2007, the Asian Fisheries Acoustics Society (AFAS) has successfully organized 17 annual conferences under “The International Conference on Underwater Acoustic Technology and Education for Sustainable Fisheries in Asia.” These conferences have played a pivotal role in promoting the advancement and dissemination of fisheries acoustics across Asia.

The 17th AFAS annual meeting in Nagasaki, Japan, continued the tradition of fostering knowledge exchange among Asian scientists. The central mission throughout these gatherings has been to facilitate collaboration and share expertise in marine science and technology, particularly on fisheries acoustics.

The 18th annual meeting of AFAS will take place in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, from November 2nd to 5th, 2025. The organizing committee welcomes oral and poster presentations and encourages active dialogue on four special thematic areas. Scientists, researchers, industry professionals, and manufacturers engaged in fisheries acoustics and related fields are cordially invited to participate and contribute to this meaningful exchange of ideas.
