THEME & TOPICS

Since its foundation in Dalian, China in 2007, the Asian Fisheries Acoustics Society (AFAS) has successfully organized 14th annual meetings under the umbrella name of “The International Conference on Underwater Acoustic Technology and Education for Sustainable Fisheries in Asia”. These conferences have effectively promoted the dissemination and development of fisheries acoustic in Asia. The 14th annual conference of AFAS was held in Bogor, Indonesia from 1 to 2 November 2021. Throughout the conferences so far, the main theme has been “to contribute and exchange the knowledge and experience on marine science and technology especially fisheries acoustics with Asian Scientists”. The upcoming 15th annual conference of AFAS will be held in Busan, Korea from 14 to 16 November 2022. Both oral and poster presentations are welcome and deemed to inspire further discussions on the four special topics. Keynote speakers will be invited to give presentations on “Fisheries acoustic science in Pandemic Era of their countries”. Scientists, researchers and manufactures in the field of fisheries acoustics as well as other fisheries research areas are welcome. The traditional four major topics in relation to the four study groups of AFAS will of course still be main topics of the 15th annual meeting.
